You can drive her any time you want Paul. Gatlinburg would be the perfect time.

John, thanks. I don't have a 'better' picture or full side view, this helps.

Ahh, not as good as John's work, but works. With chrome wheels, fat freddies & blackwalls. Not right. I do love the wide whites, but the chrome has to go.

Nice Rear, looks better painted.

Looks Great! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Bruce, the color is a custon mix gray, I believe, Janel can tell you more detail.

Oh goodie the primer is done, now on to the color, =P.

It's a Dupont color, I forget what the number is, because we fiddled and tweaked the color a few times. Just 'greay.'

Thanks John, those pictures help immensely. Gawd I love the whitewalls (sorta shouts sixties to me)

On an early B, wide whites look both unique and correct...provided the rest of the car looks period correct as well.

1962 magazine article with wide whites.

The attached file is a great early B ad featuring an F-104 and a whitewall B.

Fixed the link, still working on the attachment.

[edit]

All fixed- the link and attachment are there.

The link shows a stunning iris (I think) blue '63 B with chrome spokes, wide whites and a medium blue interior...stunning of course because it was new at the time.

The ad can be found here: https://spitfireguy.com/mgb_ad2.htm

The text of the ad is great!

I KNOW that iris blue B. VERY well. I wanted iris blue for a long time. I have a dozen pictures of that car saved!

That's a GREAT ad! More fuel for my whitewalls campaign!

Lookin good JB! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I'm partial to whites only maybe not as wide. I'm also partial to painted vs. Chrome. Cleaning my bike wires is MURDER!!
my2p

wide whites go great with Tommy Guns... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Hmm, I like the white walls with the gray as well.

The wide whitewalls look fantastic!
Not sure why you're so against chrome wires.
From where I'm looking they look just as 'right' as the painted ones.
The chrome wires would tie in with the rest of the chrome on the car, the painted wires would tie in more with that beautiful gray.
Either way, the wide whitewalls are keepers! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif
It's gonna be a looker.

Oh yea! gangsta' whites on painted wires. verrry nice!
How about painting the wheels the same color as the car? I've seen that done (I'm almost thinking it was an option for a while. I know it was for Triumph)
It really makes the knock-offs pop out.
~hehehehehe I love throwing monkey wrenches~
"if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball!"

The white on MG tires wasn't quite that wide...I've an original set of whitewalls that've never seen the road - in the old original size....& they're beautiful on an MG!
