The LBC bug strikes again...

I see a few MBC (Mid-size Brit Car) Jags every day... Saw a new Bentley a while back... a rare sighting... and more Range Rovers than I can shake a stick at. Sadly, I think less than 1% of the Range Rovers that I see ever leave the pavement...

Great, Tony! Can't wait to find out how that drive went. Julie followin' to pick up the bits what fall off?!?! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Yep, she's behind him...all his lights are working except the driver side brake light....

I got up this morning & took it for a final spin to fill the gas tank...started sounding like a water ppump bearing was snging - off & on...tightened the alternator belt just in case that was all it was...afrid water pump may be saying "so long" - or it could just need a good long run.

"Kenny wants the neat little coupe version of the P1800ES"
Don't we all. Had a friend with one in Hawaii, durn thing would move and handled preaty well on a high speed autocross course. But not like a Bugeye, even my wife could beat his times with the Bugeye. Then he bought a Lotus 7, that was the ball game.

There's a mint one that runs around town - white - old guy looks like he's always owned it...never had a chance to talk with him though

That seven was really fun, would go like the hinges. Was hard at first to keep ahead of it.

I made it home!!! here's the lowdown!

1. broke down within 2 seconds of leaving tony's driveway (fuel hose slipped off the fuel rail - easy fix)
3. had on eye on the oil and water guages and one eye on the road all the way - no problems there!
2. By the time we were on the interstate, the noise under the hood went away and never came back - yet.
3. Sometime along the way, the passenger brake light started working according to Julie... I'll have to check the drivers side later.
4. when I got close enough to home to feel safe to have to call a towtruck, I opened it up to 90mph for a second - awsome - then I had to slow down to let Julie catch back up!!!!!
5. this thing loves the freeway! Drives better than Julies car, alot better than the MGB, and well, no comparison with the toyota.
6. It's now parked in the yard. The toyota wouldn't start so I could move it (dead battery), so it's keeping the Alfa and the MG from being jealous of one another - hehehehe.
7. Oh, about halfway home I noticed there was a radio... and it worked! Tested the A/C - once we got onto 59/20 we were driving right towards the sun - got a little warm. I thought Tony had kinda joked with me about how cold it was... until I figured out the thermostat part of the knob...Brrrrrr.

Anyways, Awsome little car. I'm gonna love it. I think Julies gonna like it too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

mehheh.

"Told ya so."

You're stuffed. Two sets of tools, seperate fastner collections, MORE phone numbers for parts suppliers...

Life is gonna get exciting. There's no going back, lad.

GOOMBA!!!

I had two sets of tools anyway - Toyota needs metric, MGB needs standard, and the Eagle needs both. Ah, yes though... I'm building a nice collection of catologs over on my desk - hehehe. Yep no going back. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I'd like some pix of the BUSINESS part. Engine stuff.

We'll talk soon.

I'll get some engine pics soon... not tonight though. Now who would you recommend, Doc, for me to find BLUE leather seat covers (upholstery). The only one's I've seen available are black and brown. And I'll need a Blue dash pad too (I've only seen black available new). I never asked and assumed the seats were brown. I like the blue though - Oh, and that new top tony had there still in the box is beautiful (black cloth top).

I must admit, I've not seen a blue seat motif in a Spider. International has black, tan, brown and dark red listed but no blue. I'll ask my Miami friends about it too. They've contacts in Italy as well.

This one even has blue carpet (with grey specks in it), but the carpet is in good shape. I amost coulda swore I saw some old blue tint in the top too, but that might have just been mold... The new black one is really nice though, and it'll go on when I get the interior get's redone.

Oh, and tony... I think I might have fixed the small leak on the passenger side header seal... The gasket was folded behind the windshiled lip. I got it back out where it should be... We'll see - s'posed to rain again this weekend.

Generally the "ears" at the corners where the top meets the windshield are the only points what're leak prone on them. The rail seals are pretty good.

Gtreat! Oh, the passenger brake light was working as you drove off!!

I'm so glad you got home safely - &, see, I told Julie that at some point you would HAVE to run away just to see what it'd do

Jerri said she enjoyed meeting & talking with Julie...see you when we come through in a week or so (gotta go look at those 3 MG's the guy in M----ville has for sale)

The front of the rail seal was folded back though about 1/3 of the way across the windshield though - that coulda let in some water. When it starts raining hard again, I'll do the same thing I did in the MG... Sit in it for an hour looking for the leaks.

I've just given up and split a 30-gallon garbage bag as a cover over the front of the top. But I'm jaded. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Well, you do have that new cloth top in the box if you need it!

& I like that new signature pic, Kenny!
