The LBC bug strikes again...

I sold my '69 MGB in 1980, after AETNA cancelled my insurance for no good reason (yes, I got revenge later ;-))and then I had a couple of sons and SUVs...until they youngest started to drive, then I got another MGB /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

For some things, there is treatment, but there is no cure! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

red and brown makes orange tony!
now that the brown is gone , after
buffing all day, i DO see a redish color
poking through!.zimmy

See, & you didn't even know it!

BTW, I should be there about 10:30-11:00 in the morning Tony. I'd keep my eye's peeled for any LBC's along the way, but we'll be on the interstate this time - all the way. Makes for a much faster efficient trip.

Going home back roads?

Probably not... We've got it timed so we get back in time to catch Amanda as she get's off the schoolbus.

I'll have it gassed up & ready to roll!

...but, That's, not to say I won't explore the backroads here when we get home! Hehehehehehe /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Tony... Maybe for next february, you can snag me a nice P1800? hehehehe. I like the regular ones - not the ES.

'course if I had another grand to spend... I'd take that GT you just listed the other day too. hehehehe /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Kenny - be careful what you ask for...remember, they all follow me home!

I've learned to only ask for what I want - hehehehe. I think I want a Volvo p1800. I missed out on the only one ive ever seen listed locally for $800 because I didn't have the money for it then. I'm a february car buyer... and I can afford a few bits n pieces between there. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

That is a really nice looking P1800! I don't see many of the "estates" or "shooting brakes" (I refuse to say wagon for that car!) I'd love to find a nice Saab Sonnet III. No $$ for one right now anyway...

Well, I'm a Triumph owner in the MG forum and I'm about to give you all a Volvo education... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Not all 1800's are actually P1800's:

P1800 : designation for the 1961-1963 model year cars that were assembled in the UK by Jensen Motors (See? It almost is a LBC!)

1800S: designation for the 1963-1968 model years cars after production was moved to Sweden. This is the version that Roger Moore drove as "The Saint".

1800E: designation for the 1969-1972 coupes after Volvo switched over to Bosch electronic fuel injection

1800ES: designation for the 1972-1973 "sportwagon"

Oh, and mattmacklind3, in response to your comment about not seeing many ES's... They only ever built about 8,000 of them so it's not surprising you don't see more of them.

JersyGirl, I really enjoyed your blog and pics on your 1800 restoration/rebuild. I learn something everytime I read one of those. Your efforts and results are exceptional so is your boy friend by the way, he just may be a keeper.

Please let us know when a new installment is published.

Oh, let it be long, you are a great writer. I felt like I was part of it.

I saw a BBC today, Big British Car. Rolls Royce

Rolls Tech's Lament:

Rollie, Rollie onna lawn,
You are aught but Devil Spawn.

Rollie, Rollie onna grass,
Why you wanna bust my A**?

Rollie, Rollie onna rack,
you ain't gonna break MY back.

Kenny wants the neat little coupe version of the P1800ES

oh, Doc, he's on the rosd in the "pink wire" car
