The Keenan Update

Today I install the new exhaust system that allows me to you SU carbs.
All I have to do know is clean the ones up and drive.
I have all the parts including nice flat air filters from K&N I believe I forgot witch ones I order.
So hopefully I’ll have my HS4’s on her and tunes right and running by the 27th just in time to leave for my cabin on the 28th wit my mate Steve, if not I have a club member who will loan me a running older style SU set, but I hope to have mine working.

Got a lot of tings done today, stripped out the Zenith stuff, bought fuel lines and a bass T piece and all the other good stuff, switching to a clean fuel filter like I was recommended to do, good idea Carl, makes sense to me. I also did some tuff for mw, please don’t frown to much, I install courtesy lights for the trip for we can see when we get in and out in the dark and read maps, and they were 75% off at the store so I could not help my self.
I installed a MGF shifter knob after modifying it to fit, I drilled her out and weld the original thread in there, then but a stop lock nut on and spine her in to place, I stated fixing all the chips and filling in the scratches in my car, I’ll touch up and wet sand tomorrow after noon. Install new threshold plats that I was saving for MG2006 the nice ones with the MG logo on them. I charged up the battery to full power changed the rear passenger tire, O and I bought a nice little extension chrome pipe to beautifies the exhausted system a little.

Tomorrow schedule goes wake up 5:30 am jog to work out work out till 7 then go to the shop and install the new exhaust and have her back at home by noon, then one step left.

The begining of the end f the saga mates.

God's speed to all and Take care,
Keenan

Re: The Keenan Update

O the last couple of days at the shop have been slow. I got stuck playing cars on Wednesday and today for a hour on lunch time, I'm not a big card fan but Rook's not a bad game.
Today, I finished painting and polishing all the exhaust parts and I cleaned the head of and we restudied it, Thank good the last parts order I order all new studs for the car just in case. One was bent and stripped some how. I solved the horn not working problem and figured out why the lights stopped working, I had to order a new light switch on that one. I but some nice shiner and protective gelatin all of the vinyl and plastic to protect it and give it a new look, and order more parts.
This time I order the rest of the carb tools a SU tuning manual, a headlight switch, 4 fuses.
I got screw yesterday in my order of the SU rebuilds that should have been here today, Victoria British sent them **** SLOW USPS nothing against them personally its just fast to ship it UPS since KS only 300 miles away and the USPS has t to go to Omaha then back to Shenandoah so I did not get the kits to him to day so he did not get any work done on the rebuild with one total carb in piece, I saw if it does not come in tomorrow at my door step heck will be shouted out of my lungs at Victoria British. I paid 35 bucks for shipping and requested UPS, so when I found out neither shipper had them I was in quit a pissy mood "Witch is fun to watch me rant and rave"

How fully they'll be here I the morning and the nice lady that deliver are mail Connie said to call at 8am and go pick it up. Then he can get started and finish both today and I'll put the exhaust totality together and I'll have car for the weekend, with no head lights, but I'll Jerry rig an UN-British part from the Auto store to make it work.

Wish me luck, car ahs to be running good for the 28 for too reason I leave for Minnesota for a week at my cabins on my lake and the girl who I use to like have to see now w that likes me moves back to town.

Re: The Keenan Update

There all rebuilt its just we where missing a spring so i got that from Moss Victoria was back order 6-8 week so I did next day on the return spring a nice 31 dollar shipping fee, worth it though i leave on the 28th. I got the manifold and Intake finished and bolted on, where going to wait for the car running to install the exhaust the other guy said I don’t know why. So my friend the mechanic will hopefully have the SU rebuilt all the way running and on the car and the car running by 2:30 pm Monday when the exhaust guy comes in, he'll finish the exhaust and I'll drive my car home Monday night.
Some time I want him to fix the emergency brake before i drive it out of the shop.
If all goes well then I’ll leave 6am on the 28th and get in my cabin at Minnesota around 3-4 pm.

Re: The Keenan Update

I thought you & your dad were going to Tennessee to MG2006?

Re: The Keenan Update

A quick trip to the hardware store could have saved you $30+ on the spring. Quit paying next day shipping on parts. Its not going to save YOU any time.

Re: The Keenan Update

It will be here Monday, Yes my family has two cabins in MN.

Re: The Keenan Update

Well first thing tomorrow morning first thing I go to the shop and then get the MG up and running with the new SU’s. Then only thing we need that bloody spring then he can finish the SU rebuild and I can put the bad boys in and get the beast running better, no more BLOODY Single ZENITH for me.
Hopefully by 10-12 in the morning the UPS guy will be here with the spring, I think I seen to the shop address if not I can do a hoop skip a tea break and a jump to my house 4 blocks away.
Personally besides installing them on the new exhaust I completed, I’m going to install the new head light system.

Fill you in tomorrow night of process; hopefully it will be a late message cause that means I’ll be out on the town.

After reading his posts it’s scary to think of this guy driving on the same road as me.
