Hey DrEntropy;

There is another "Uki" on board here!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

"Vecelih Shvait": Phoenitically speaking "Happy Holidays": /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif

Regards, Russ /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif

T'ain't ME, Russ. Horsemits is th' Uki.

All the in-laws and their friends. Ever see "The Ukranian Dancers of Miami"? I know about ALL of 'em, related to half of 'em by marriage.

I'm an American of Italian decent (2nd gen.), out of western PA. But I EAT Uki food like a machine... a dreaded Omnivore. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

I'm an American of Portuguese and German decent originally out of New England and forever a transplanted New Mexican. Like you I devour and cook both Lithuanian and Polish favorites. Our Christmas Eve is very tradtional with the 7 fish, perogies, kugeli, noodles, potato pancakes and added mac and cheese and then comes all the desserts and of course, bobka. This year I've decided to add for Christmas Brunch Portuguese sweet bread along with added dishes and of course 'last night's leftovers.'

Can you tell, I like to eat and I like to cook and hubby is just as avid as I. He's a great cook. Interestingly we could be not too happy with each other but put us in the kitchen and we 'purr.'

Happy Thanksgiving to All and do stay safe.

Will you "adopt" an errant Floridian Omnivore?

...I promise to leave after a week. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

What? No bacalau (salt cod fried in olive oil) and migas (bread fried in the skillet liquor from the bacalau)? We had this every Christmas morning. I thought that it was a Portugese tradition because of the spelling. My father made it even though he was born in Spain. I got really sick from it one Christmas.

We et a spaghetti on Christmas eve of angel hair pasta cover'd in an olive oil, anchovie and garlic sauce. Visitors would GAG at the smell of it. Similar to nook-mam.

I now crave it.

'smits was accepted into the fold when she went for "seconds".

~shiver~ Nook-mam....yeeach!... we wuz discussing that at lunch today. Picking on the parts guys microwave tuna noodle stinking up the break room. He's a Korean vet and said we were just lucky he wasen't having Kim-che... It went downhill from there.

He's a jewel, Ben. Does he smoke cigars? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Since 'smits is gone to Miami, I'm planning on piggin' out on a ham and baked spuds, some veggies, a li'l vino, mebbe whip up some kinda confection involving cornbread... Still a bit early so not decided. It'll be a leasurely day. Currently watchin' "Ovation TV". They're running a series of programs on photography. Interviews and vignettes of a bunch of "famous" photogs. Interesting to me.

Aren't you glad the Wells Brothers founded AO and had lots of dollars? I believe this was the formula for Sturbridge Village.

When I was reading your menu, my first reaction was that this was the ramblings of a less than truthful person until I got the 'oxen' part of your post and then I looked at your "Nutmeg" and then I got it. How slow can I be...

Don't answer.

Glad you enjoyed your turkey day.
