Aloha,

the wipers are started by turning a wiper parking knob that closes a contact to complete a circuit. The cotton jacket on the wires has faded so I can't determine the color to identify it. My question is, do these wires to the knob complete the path to the ground or power to the motor? your help will be greatly appreciated.

Safety Fast,
Dave

On all wiper motors I'm familiar with, the power is to the motor, the switch completes the circuit by grounding it.

BTW: there are two wiper motor specific pieces in the Articles section of the forum.

Correct on the TF, not sure about other models. PJ

Thanks guys, I thought that it was the path to ground but appreciate the confirmation. All the wiring diagrams I've seen do not include that switch. Mahalo.

I'm nearing the end of my restoration of the car. It has been about twelve years so far, but the end is in sight.

Safety Fast,
Dave

WoW, 12 years, and I thought the 9 years it took me was forever! You'll love driving it when it's done, TFs are a breed of their own. PJ
