Team BCF!

I have q GoPro and am not really a fan. Pretty expensive and not great optics. And it has no monitor so you can't playback anything to see if it looks OK. I'd say your current Canon is just as good. For convenience and cost, (and maybe even travel security) you might consider getting an I-Phone (if you don't already have one). You can post all your photos and videos via the Instagram App using an I-Phone even while you on the road (but not driving, of course). Takes pretty decent photos and vid and is very easy to upload to web. But you'd have to consider the added monthly cost of data-phone service. Otherwise, if you take along a lap top, you can just upload from the Canon everywhere you have WiFi. Many cities, businesses and areas of the country have free WiFi so should not be too hard to do this. For something lighter and smaller than the Canon for traveling (and will take decent still photos and video) I'd say a ~Sony Bloggie~ is a good value at about $129. They also have a WiFi version for about $200. You can find free WiFI spots ~HERE~

Agree with Nial about GoPro. Bought my son GoPro from Christmas and its great for some applications but probably not for what you're doing. I left more opinion in the Photo Group.

Tom please dont think I am not interested in helping out. However if you need help near me you are not going to have a good trip. :tennis:

LOL - almost choked on that one. If I see Narragansett Bay on my first day, I'm in deep doo doo. I figure if I can get west of Hartford I'm good to go for the next 30 days!

They make an add on monitor and the 3 has better optics. We had the 2 in all the cars and I was shocked at the quality. A lot of action/ rough condition shots you see on TV are shot w/ GP's. Imma believer, YMMV https://gopro.com/hd-hero-accessories/lcd-bacpac
