supercharger for austin healey ?

9:1 on a supercharged engine is a lot. Good plan to keep the boost low. What is the highest octane gas in Belguim, Bertrand?

But correct for Sprite engines

Mudd, I tested my supercharged BJ8 ont the dyno and the result is:125 hp at the rear wheels and 145 hp at the flywheel. This seemed not extraordinary, and I was a bit disappointed in first instance. Having gained information with AH specialists and on internet regarding AH real power of stock engines, we can forget the 148hp announced by Austin healey factory in the past. Have a look at the AHSPARES - FUEL INJECTION website in which they show a dyno chart "before" and "after" injection system installation. We can see there that the power of the stock engine "before" injection installation gives about 83hp at the rear wheels and about 104 hp after installation. If I compare these figures with the performance of my supercharged engine, I think I can be satisfied.

At a recent "rolling road" club dyno session, Peter Roses stock 29D engine with a 15-year-old overhaul did 94 hp at rear wheels and Henry Smith's BT7 with period triple Weber 45DCOE (never completely sorted out), headers and hot street cam - mods done back in the day - did 125 hp at the rear wheels.

My c/r of 9:1 is a bit high indeed, but what can I do ?. We have here in Belgium gas at 95 and at 98 octane. I use of course the 98 octane and add a bit of octane booster to avoid pinging.
