General Tech SU HS6 Carb Float Adjustment

Was there a consensus that setting the float at a 1/8 inch gap between the float and the float bowl lid when inverted is still considered correct, or did we conclude that there should be a wider gap?

My floats have about 1 inch of fuel in the bowls when I remove the lid and float, but my lid/float gap is more like 5/16 of an inch. If I reduce to spec, 1/8th, I’ll be adding quite a bit more fuel. But right is right, so I’m curious.

I can not state any consensus. I would guess that the owners with HS6 carbs is a small percentage, maybe very small of TR owners.
But I have your answer from SU as found on one of their parts sheets for the HS6 carbs.
The answer is 3/16".

P.S. That is what I have my 3 TRs with HS6 carbs set at..Charley
