Strange 5 Speed Conversion - Will it Work?

Strictly as a test bed, I have an early B wire wheel banjo rear, Other than the spring perch brackets need to be moved, what other mods need to be done to stick it under the car and test the 3.9 gearing on a 1500 engine? We have one fairly steep hill close to me that's a quarter of a mile long, if the car will climb it in third gear, I'll put the 3.9 gears in the TF housing.

It's worth adding that most folks who buy the T9, want a "ready to go kit", this is the market sector that this kit appeals to, put it in , bolt it and go. For the guy wanting to search the junkyards, classifieds find a used gearbox and buy a kit separately from a vendor, and don't mind a bit of modification, then the other kit will save you about $750-1000 on for example a MGB/MGA installation.

I drove the 74 GT back to it's owner sunday, it was roughly 120 miles trip, mostly all interstate, I cruised at 75 mph and used a 1/4 tank of gas, the 5 speed or OD with a highway cruising gear ratio make this sort of travel a much nicer adventure. At 75 mpg i was turning about 3100-3200 rpms, which seems like a nice crusing rpm for the MGB.
