Steering Box Rebuild questions

You don't mention if you tried heating the box assembly to about 250-300 degrees. I've often been amazed at how heat opens up clearances.

Im not a fan of Eastwood paints or products. They fail to deliver in my opinion, but I do appreciate the reply and suggestion! Ill probably paint it with some reduced epoxy for a durable semi gloss finish. Just wanted to check first and see if anybody knew of the correct finish! Currently the entire thing is painted gloss, or was, but somebody had been in the box previously, so it was not original.
