Am about 3/4 inch from haveing first bolt drilled out. Two drills so far so went to Home Depot and got four more of the good ones. Built a little wooden thing so I can apply pressure upwards on the drill. Seems to be working fine so far. Maybe tomorrow will finish, I hope. Took quite a while to develope a procedure so lot of wasted time today.

you should be able to get thru the job on a drill,, maybe two. How fast are you running the drill and what size is it? i would suggest a slower speed, certianly not full rabbit on the drill. spin slow, push hard.

Ho, got it out, I am the worlds expert on removeing springs now.

Hears how:

Drill the two front bolts up past the first leaf.
Drill the middle bolt up past the first leaf.

Pry the lower leaf loose and remove.

All the remander will come out at that point.

Isn't it easy when you know how.

If you do not have a Drill Dr. ... ask for one for your Bday, fathers day, whatever gift giving event arises.

Hmmm, Drill Dr. Have a sharpner for small bits but not this 3/8 and I have found I can not do much of a job free hand.

I've never had much luck with Drill Doctors. I mostly use left handed drill bits for bolt and screw removal anyway. I get the best results with a vise and my trusty dremel.

The Drill Dr. comes in handy when you when you are needing to make clean holes with very little wandering of the bit (once it is in the material). A good edge at the proper pitch make a big difference. But, it would not be to useful for left handed bits. Just my opinion. There are many other tools that are more useful, but the Drill Dr. makes me more apt to use a sharp bit than try to get by with an "OK" bit just to save time.

started removing the bolts on my rear springs today too...got three out on the drivers side with some patience and penetrating oil. Passenger side I've got one and broke one so far (ugh!).

Left the remainder soaking tonight and I'll try again tomorrow. Then I get to drill and tap the broken one (hopefully still only one)....
