finally got my front springs back, media blasted and painted. took apart the front end (had been using PVC pipe to hold everything in place) and decided that I really should splurge and spend the $3.00 to install grease nipples on the other side of the fulcrum pin. OK it actually cost $10 cause I had to buy the right sized tap. Why I even debate this sort of cheap insurance is beyond me
but the real reason I'm telling you this is that after I drilled the holes I stuck my magnetic screw retriever into the fulcrum pin socket to see of there was any debris. I was STUNNED by the amount of shavings in there - not from the drill but from the threads. Just the suggestion to check and recheck the cleanliness. :thumbsup:
