Don't make fun of my childhood... that set of 3 movies pretty much defined my childhood (I was born in '72) in much the same way that the Harry Potter books have done for kids today.

May have to watch that one again this weekend...

harumph!

My childhood books were on papyrus.

(kids these days ...)

You're barking up the wrong tree don.

Not making fun at all - but you got to admit that that is a cheesy trailer and, that if that was all you say, you would never predict what it would become.

From what I remember of the Seventies, they were pretty cheesy all around.

I love the dogs doing the Imperial March. Not sure how that's a VW commercial, but still very cool.

Woof.

I just don't get it!

It's simple, if you buy a VW your dog looses weight and you go over to the dark side and it is as reliable as the Millenium Falcon but only on Tatooine. sheesh

In other words, the people who make these ads were
the ones highly influenced by "Star Wars" when they were
growing up,& are now making a lot of money from it.
I think that these are the same people who are design-
ing the newer Nissans (Murano,Rogue,Juke,etc.).

I don't really get the fascination with the 6 Star Wars myself, but it is very popular with kids and adults. Don't forget, these ads are designed to catch the attention of people watching football and who are no doubt waiting for something interesting to come on TV to break up the boredom.

The dog part is just...a dog. The rest is referring to another VW ad that's been running for the past year:

LOL

I agree 100%!

Probably  Years ago I ran a photo lab in a retail setting. I used to love working when there was football on because the place was deserted. It gave me time to read
