Abandoned kit car?
 
That's my question. It dosen't look like an original T series, but it's pretty close.
No rust, thus fiberglass. Wheels not quite right, simplified windscreen frame
Hmmmm.. it's got potential.
 
It'll either have a pinto engine under the bonnet, or a VW engine out back depending on what kit it is.
 
Almost definitely a kit "TD" - check out the multi-piece bonnet, among other clues.
 
After a second look I see hints of VW... Like the turn signal bases on the front fenders

MiGi was a popular and horrible VW-based kit car. Thankfully they seem to be going away. The lines on those things are simply horrible, in my opinion. A replica is supposed to honor the original!

Oh, my... I must confess I never saw any attraction in any of VW based kits, or in very few of the others.

The "Jamaican" from years ago looked nice enough, though, and some of the modern kits that don't try to be something they're not seem decent but most replicars don't seem to me to try very hard...

Some of the replicas that try to be accurate are appealing- like Westfield's Lotus XI replica or the SS-100 Jaguar.

I think the attraction would be a neat looking car that one could easily build themselves where parts are plentiful and cheap. I think our own aerog (moderator here) has a kit-based example and its pretty cool looking. I myself, have been drooling for a few years over this kit car:

www.ss100.com and I may just go for it one of these days (after I get the EType back on the road).

I like it! I must confess that I also like the kit cars that don't try to be what they are not. Little cars like the Ashley Sportiva for example. I was thinking it would be neat if there was an equivalent kit available today to mount on a common chassis, just like all those VW kit cars of days past. What chassis would be sensible? What kits are out there that meets these criteria?

There is that, but I'd want one that had some aesthetic appeal too. Puting a pseudo-MG or other front (Type 35 Bugatti?) on VW base doesn't do it for me. Making a Porsche replica from a VW would be OK but I'd baulk at a GT 40 despite the rear-engined original.

I call my Healey a kit car- lots of pieces, some of them useable, some wrong... and no instructions.

The SS-100 is a good example of a well designed and thought out replica, and its based on using modern Jaguar components. So too are the Westfield replicas.

I like the Fisher Fury as an example of a modern kit that has some appeal without trying to be something it is not, like the old Lotus and other English Ford-based kits had years ago.

I particularly like the anchor chain attached to the plate bracket in the rear view!! There is a car that wound up where it belongs!
 
I like the Fury... kind of Ace'ish.
