Speedometer repair

I used West Valley Auto Electronics in Resida, CA (LA area). Phone (818) 758-9500. The guy has been there forever. They were fast and accurate. They have Smith parts. Were ever you go, send the cable to be checked as well. The length must be exact! The repo cables are apparently too long and cause damage to the speedo unit.

Just check the distance from the face of the cable outer housing flange to the end of the inner cable. The cable should stick out no more than 3/8". Grind off a bit of the inner cable end if needed.

I think the guy at West Valley may have been Margaret's partner at one time.

For anyone in the DC/Baltimore area there is a place called Safety-Chek very near the BWI airport. See Bob--he is good and quick.

I'm in Albuquerque today and I'm taking the speedo & tach there. They do great work.

Cheers,
Gavin

Nisongers just did mine - it looks great! They did the combo gauge and the speedo. If you give them an extra $40.00 they'll do it in five days.

oops - I just answered a four year old thread......

:winner1: Agatha A Healey. All her gauges went to Mo Ma and she couldn't be happier.
