Source for brake shoes - 78 Midget?

The local parts places don't have any, NAPA asked "7 inch or 8 inch"? Then they looked it up and said they can't get them anyway.

Suggestions for a good source of new brake shoes?
Anyone know why NAPA asked about the two different sizes?

Thanks Gerard,

I called and they looked up and found the same items then tried to get them and said "no, can't get them".

I've heard from someone local here who has a set, so I'll get them from him.

... and that is the problem with the the "chain" local auto parts stores. We used to have independent stores in my neighborhood where you could walk in in get them off the shelf. If the weren't on the shelf, they'd get them for you in a couple hours. They've closed up years ago, and so it goes I'm guessing, around the country.

I've got one old-style store near me, and have found the O'Reilly's guys near me to be surprisingly helpful. That said, I'm only ever using them for basic stuff (oil, filters, spark plugs, battery). All specific parts come from Moss or similar. Too much work to try and hunt them down otherwise, when one of the LBC parts guys can mail it to me in a few days.

This sounds like an opportunity to again print my Spridget List of Links..

Someone here has the parts anyone needs.... I THINK

YMMV

HAHA, Bill you a funny fellow.

O'Reilly's seems to always hire the best crew available in the area. They bought out the old Hi/Lo I worked at. Best crew I've ever seen much less been on period ( HI/Lo).

IIRC, Pep has a listing and can get them. Problem is most Spridget stuff from boxes is through Beck Arnley and pricey. $474 for a TR6 master cylinder for example.

The store near my house (and other's in the area) went from being a Sherba's, next Grand Auto, then Kragen's, now O'Reilly. They get worse each time. Since becoming O'Reilly, there prices have become ridiculous, They are a total rip-off. For example, ~$500 for a 1275 Clutch kit.
