That's strange, twice for the BW66?
Mine (1975) has the BW65, but having driven both versions, they are odd in the shifting pattern. The problem as I see it is that being a three speed automatic, second gears mph range is too broad. There is an adjustment that isn't too difficult, but this could be what shortens the life span. I had hanging in 2nd gear issues on the 1986, and am noticing a similar issue on the 1975. I think that adjustment is the key, but the feeling of driving in second gear around 50 MPH just seems odd. These cars like the open road much better, and at highway speeds third gear is a joy. I think for future reference you can actually mount a GM transmission to the XK engine, GM350? unit, and it isn't a huge hassle to do so. I hope you don't have any issues on your next Jaguar, and I hope I'm not in for a shock on the XJ6C soon. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif
On the grille and Moss issue, at least give their grey piping a try, it is a perfect match and sets of the re-chromed unit you are planning.....
Best as always,
