i had a bit of trouble and got there but with problems and decided to not enter the show but fix my car for the trip home. Finally got to see the show field and took a few pics of the cars that caught my eye. I was tired , but the car were great and I wish I had spent the whole weekend there. That place looked awesome. I will have to go there next time they have it and bring the bride. Anyways, the pics.

Nice, that place has not changed in 30 years. Must get back there.

The light blue Mini is Dirk Hartmans, and the island green MGA coupe is Cliff Jones, both are Foothills British Car Club members. I'll see Cliff later today at a Euro Auto Festival meeting.

Me and Dirk have done some sprited mountain runs together, he drives the living crap out of that little Mini, Dirk will be at the British Invasion at CMP. Normally when Dirk and I do a group run in the moutains we have to pull, over and wait for everyone else to catch up, we've had some good fun driving our cars in the mountains.

The blue one with the 10 inch tires reminded me of the one we rolled in England near Cambridge on rainy night with 4 of us in it. We rolled it over and rehooked a few things and drove ti back to base. A mini is small enough with 4 adults without the top mashed in on your head. I plan on going to the show in Greer, What is the date again? There is a show here in Hendersonville called autum in the mounains that is this weekend but I will be on night shift for the next week at least. The refineries shutting down caused a shortage of a material used at my plant, so they are shutting some machines down for a rebuild, all short notice.

Hey Kim, just got back from dillard, great weekend and great show. thanks for the pictures nice to see gidget in there, Ray won 1st place, the 61 midget 2nd and I won third. the BE in your first picture won 1st place in his class, but the best part of course was the driving it could not have been better, glad you made it back home without any trouble, great to finally meet the people you talk to on the forum.

How far away do you live from Dillard. I might have already asked you that. There is the possbility that jack might spend some time up here next summer and Ray said he has a brother in Hickory that he can stay with. It would be nice to get a few of us together and ride the blue ridge parkway one weekend or something.

Hey Kim, I live in the atlanta area. driving the parkway is a blast we used to drive up and stay at the mount pisga inn on the parkway if its still there, but the last time we were there they told us not to come back, something about us being to loud haha. so sounds like fun to me.

I know the palce well. I am 3 miles from the parkway and 25 miles from Mt Pisgah. Too loud? As far as the car or raising a ruckus?

Euro Auto Festival is October 17-19, with show day being Saturday the 18th, fiquire we always have a 100+ British cars in Euro. I have my 67 MGB GT in the show, and be vending for Superlite Wheels. If any of you all are staying or visting the host hotel, Spartanburg Marriott, then be sure to visit the BASF hospitality suite for free booze and eats, Mary Jane and myself will be heading that up this year.

Anther thing I suggest you get in on at Euro is the BMW Performance Center, for a $25 donation you can do a variety of perfomance event in new BMWs, the Rat Race is my favortie, hope you don't draw me as competitor  PC events normally sell out, so it's a good idea to sign up early, shuttle will transport to and from the show filed to the PC.

WWNCBCC's Autiumn in the Mountain is next Saturday the 27th, it was originally planned for the weekend after that but had to be resheduled to a change in venue. FBCC (Foothills British Car Club) members have always been strong supporters of this show, however this year it comes on the same weekend as our overnight trip, the FBCC annual overnight trip is the club president's gig, this year I'm president, i purposelt palnned my trip to avoid the Autumn in the Mountain date, but when they resheduled it conflicted with our trip. We'll have a few members attending, but this year will be a record turnout for the overnight trip, look like we're going to have 33 folks going and 17 LBCs. We going to Dillsboro, NC, which includes a 112 miles trip up thru the Pisgah National Forest and the Blueridge Parkway, should be a hoot. These are my favortie types of outings because it's more about driving than showing.

OK, in closing I got a interesting call last week form a lady who is a key orginaizer of the Scotish Games held at Furman University in Greenville, SC, he wants to have a all British car show next year. The Scotish games are like the forst weekend in June, and it's a pretty big event. She palnns on promoting the holy crap out of this, and want to get the show up to 200 cars. No doubt the Scotish Games would make for a very intersdting venue for a British car show.

Thanks for the heads-up on this Hap...I'm marking my calendar! Sounds like real fun.

Ray McCaleb...Mac Caleb...clan Mac Killop (Mac...son of; Killop...horse...Son of Horse..my ancestors were Scottish Highland horsemen)

The dark red Midget in the pictures is my Midgie. This was her first British car show where she participated. I'm really proud of her. We drove her round trip. She did better than I thought over those steep mountains from Hayesville to Franklin.

There were a lot of great cars and it was fun to catch up with folks again.

Hey kim, well it was not our cars. I guess we were partying a bit to loud it must have been the altitude. it must be great to live so close to so many nice places to ride I am green with envy. Jim i did not know that was your car next to me and sorry i did not get a chance to meet you, the peachtree mg club is my car club so i do not stay around the car much, glad you made it there and back ok and had a good drive.

I didn't realize until much later that that was your car there beside me. Oh well...we'll get to meet hopefully soon when I come over to get the gearbox. Something strange happened at the show though. Ray was getting in his car, and I in mine. Cleared the seats of the flyers and sitting there was a very good air rail. I asked Ray if he saw someone put it in my car and he did not. I've heard of having things taken off and stolen on the car, but never put into it. Guess I was paid a visit by the air rail fairy.

You must have been visted by the parts fairy, hey maybe if I sat out four tires a car would appear hehe.

I don't think I met you Jim but I looked at your midget. I like that color. I wish I had got in there on time and joined in the show. Mine was parked out in the lot. I met alan and talke quite a while with him. Good time.

Kim-I didn't get a chance to meet you, but I took a couple of photographs of your car out in the parking lot. I'll post them on my web site toward the end of the week.
