So what is your LBC getting for Christmas

A new stable mate.. I'm buying a Ford Fiesta ST. Already picked up the wheels and tires as they come with "Summer Only" rubber. Oh, and a Valentine One Radar Detector.

Tks Steve question came from Todd at Clarke Spares. I'm guessing Bugsy got involved in a rear end collision as trunk floor and rear clip were replaced and deseamed prior to purchase by PO. Thinking after repair Bugsy may not have been able to pass MOT as a result of the accident and was converted to LHD and exported to CA. Since car has a replacement 948 from an MG Midget originally titled in the UK this May be the way Bugsy II arrived in Quebec CA sometime prior to 1981.

Nothing actually new but I will get started on the complete interior for the Prefect this weekend. I have had the materials for several years. Early next month, if there is any money left in the treasury, I will send all four shocks off the Peter C for restoration.

Then onto the Sebring Replica project, which will be built as a RHD for sure.

Cheers
Lew

Lew, I seem to remember another Sebring Sprite car being built in Ill. Or maybe yours....something to do with an Ebay listing. Definitely need to keep us up to date on that project as well! I'd love to build one except for having waaay too many project's right now.

Hi Kurt,

Yes, there is another Sebring Coupe being built by Neil Anderson up near Chicago. I also sold a spare Sebring front on eBay that I had shipped with my fastback to Jim Fletcher from Period Performance up near Chicago, not sure what has become of that front. Here is the link to my project, which has been stalled for a while while I am building this Iris Blue bugeye. I have the scuttle, A pillars and front footwell floors to weld in and then can bond the fiberglass fastback to the chassis, followed by body work.

Should it not start as HAN5 and midgets start as GAN?

Definitely AN5 or AN5L, both on titles and VIN plates.

However, to support your comment, in the book "The Sprite and Midgets" by Eric Dymock, the identification reference numbers in Appendix C do state chassis number range as H-AN5-501 to H-AN5-50116. I guess the H was Healey. Same book Appendix B, just has AN5 as chassis prefix. Seems they used both in reference to the original Sprite.

I'm hoping to purchase the '74 Midget I viewed earlier this month. I've been away all week and will hope that when I check my mail tomorrow, some of my billings will have been paid such that I can deliver the money to the current owner. He's been patient and very cooperative.

Good luck, Jeff. Hope it works out for you.

Thanks, Drew. I would certainly love to return to the Midget world. My TR-7 has been a lovely ride since 2004 but it's too comfortable and demands too little of me. I want a sports car version of my '66 Land Rover. The Midget would certainly accomplish that wish .

Lew, I agonized over bidding on that bonnet. When I first went looking for a Bug Eye I passed up a car with a Sebring bonnet and have been kicking myself ever since. It was a very old mod and I have always wondered if it was an actual Sprinzel bonnet. Car had some other updates as well that I should have researched.

Kurt.

Ah, the one that got away ! I also missed one, a Cherry Red that had both a Bugeye front and a Sebring front. I called a day late, he had accepted an offer the day before ! I still need a front for my Bugeye keeper and was considering something a little different, an Ashley front (now available new in the UK) if I can find the matching Ashley hardtop, or a Peasmarsh front which is as rare as hens teeth. If I don't go that way, I may end up with another Sebring front as an alternative. Could look at importing several and selling a few off to pay for freight, as they are sort of rare here in the US. If I do that I will ask on the forum if any US guys are interested.

That would fit the bill nicely. I admit, I'd love a Series Rover to go with my Bugeye. Maybe someday.

My Datsun 5 speed arrived..just in time to my present..going to mate it to the 1380cc I'm building next!. Price was too low to pass up. Happy Holidays all!

The current list for the Tunebug:
fuel pump
starter
recover dash
get speedo refurb'd
instal new hardura boot liner
powdercoat wheels
pull engine, strip & repaint under bonnet.

So for Christmas my Healeys each got fire extinguishers, one for the BN4 and one for the Bugeye. Where does everyone mount the extinguisher in the Bugeye? I asked the same question over on the Healey forum

Happy New Year everybody!!!

Hate to say this and spoil the fun, but powder kills all the wiring
Better look for AFFF

Passenger side footwell/trans tunnel would be my choice.

Thats the same thing the ole lady said when she saw the console, "nice cup holders". I made an intro thread over in the new guy section, I guess I need to get it moved over to the spridget section.
