So the first good day of scraping all the dirt and stuff off of the frame. I found the frame tag....I remember seeing some information on another post about it. Not sure what the tag means other than what it is....Oh well...

Anybody know what gauge the metal is on the frame??

I do have one area right up by the radiator that will need a small repair....not structural but cosmetic.
 
Don't quote me but I think that the frame is 16 gauge.

OK so I found the sheet metal I needed in at Tractor Supply. Right.....Tractor Supply! Just the right amount and I can get bending and shaping. I need to make a crude 90 degree metal press. Well I will try to get the rear end loose and the front end broke down tomorrow.

I think my frame was light blue as well JP. Betcha Randall has the drawings for the spring compressor.

Sorry, no drawings. Here's a photo of mine, though. Definitely overkill, I used 3/4" threaded rod while most folks use 1/2". The bottom plate was from the junk box, a generator pulley half from a VW bug, I think. I just held it up to the studs to mark the hole locations.

OK so digging through some papers my wife found the original bill of sale for the Triumph....sold for 2289 and some change. It was purchased in Jacksonville Florida at a place called Air Base Motors.....so much fun unearthing the past.

I have to mount it somehow.
 
Cool! What was the purchase date?

Mine was originally sold at Navy Pensacola...guess those naval aviators liked TR's!

So today I decided to strip the pedal box and get it cleaned. I have one elongated hole on the clutch side of the pedal box. So repairs needed to get that right. Here is the photo...

OK so if you have been following along....I had a few changes that slowed my progress. I am jumping back in...I ordered a few more parts and need to finish the breakdown on the frame. I had some help with pictures and dimensions from some of my friends on here. I went ahead and grabbed some new front springs because of the stiffeners I found.

Next it to put the final touches on the homemade spring tool(seen Below) and then order some line for brake rerun. I too have a minor spot or two on the frame that will require a small patch. Nothing like CJD.....Hopefully. plate.jpg

Cut to the chase!!! the body tub and all the small bits can be star blasted clean. Dont waste man hours on seconds of
what a blaster will do!! Save your enthusiasm for latter when it will be needed!!!
