Slap Yo Mama!

...And is Bud's Broiler still open?

I can't read this thread anymore, I'm getting too hungry. If my wife weren't up in upstate NY right now caring for her dad, I'd plead with her to hop in the TR and get to the NO show, cars and food, cars and food..

Guys, the club puts out a pretty good spread of vittles for the members to nibble on that night. Ya gotta save room for the snacks. May I recommend Jacques-Imo's on Oak Street [www.jacquesimoscafe.com/index.html] You're not that far away if you are staying at the site motel. Of course, Pascal's Manale if you want barbequed shrimp and oysters. Going fancy, try Commander's Palace on Washington, the best of course and near my son's home in the hood. Poboy? I could type for hours.

Hours, indeed!

May have to try Jacques-Imo's. That's new to us, as we left N.O. years ago. But it's in our old stomping ground; Janet grew up just the other side of Carrollton Ave., and I lived on Fontainebleau Dr. when in high school. Spent lots of time in the old Carrollton Tavern.

Zack & I are trying to sneak to No, but the Carousel is the next Sunday and I'll be washing cars till I drop....he wants to take 7 & I'm the maintaince man. To make a "real cajun roux" husband insists you just brown the flour- no grease - stir till it is chocolate brown & his are better than any I've eaten anywhyere down here!! If anyone wants to stay an extra week- I'll make room!! Abbeville is no slouch when it comes to FOOD !! :jester: p.s. NO EXCUSES TO ANYONE CLOSE WE ARE GOING TO PROVIDE A cajun lunch for all that attend & their companions- everything's free & leaving is as the mood strikes you-(but be sure and eat lunch!lol) Let's show those American cars was automotive art on the hoof really is!! :jester: call 337 207-4277(me) for directions. It's easy, it's close & it's Free & Fun!!!!!!!!

DEAL!! But, that doesn't mean I won't have a glass of wine with dinner! &, maybe, a Cuba Libre!

And just how many supposed "adults" can one stuff into an XJ6? :smirk:

Doc,

At our ages, it not as much the body count as the weight limit of the springs.

Sounds like drive in movies in the summer of 1967....

We used a '61 Lincoln back in '67 for that, Paul.

Oh yeah. Only rich guys had Jags and they didn't show up at the drive in movies with them.

And a contemporary Jag boot MIGHT have enuff room to hold one six year old!
