California Cab
This time of year??
How about a nice Pinot Rose??

Took the wife for a ride in the Triumph and a nice dinner at an Italian restaurant.
Beautiful old stone courtyard with a lovely breeze, but we both agreed that the food good, but better at the Italian restaurant we normally go frequent.

Mickey, for the tourists out there, your poboy is considered "dressed", but cornmeal batter? Yeash.

Shame on me for always criticizing your cooking.

That said, in Louisiana, it is considered normal for men and/or women, when together, to discuss cooking. Everything else follows.

No sweat - as a parish priest, I believe I can handle criticism. :smirk:

Actually, there wasn't much corn meal in the batter. A little corn meal gives the shrimp more crunch. The color there is from the egg/beer and liberal use of "Slap Ya Mama".

By the way, no ketchup or mustard was harmed in the production of that epic work!

Thank G-D! (there's no "underscore" on this forking iPad!). Y'all started it!

I just can't bring myself to drink white with steak. BTW, I double checked and it was a Walla Walla Cabernet.......my wife's been in the cellar again.

When I worked in the east, Crowder Discount Market had 3 foot long shrimp po' boys LOADED down with shrimo for $7.99 each. It stretched all the way across the dash of the Jetta. The shrimp were small but STACKED!

Ok, I had 2 mojitos while grilling.....

Mickey,

I swear I drool when you post this stuff. My wife and I love to eat well. We joke because our travel budget for food outstrips hotels and gas. Now I've got a wicked craving for some good southeastern US food.

We really need to find an excuse to come east and south. The wife's only ever been to Disney and Pensacola (with the white bread eatin' bland part of the family). She needs to try this stuff.

What I wouldn't give for one of those po' boys and a big thing of etouffe.

Doug - I'll need at LEAST a couple hours' notice!

Jody - Happy to share recipes. If you can't source some of the goodies locally, it's pretty much all available online.

If you make it this way, let me know. And if you're in S. Louisiana, I'm sure Bill will be glad to give you some pointers.

Even though he sometimes doesn't know what he's talkin' 'bout.
