I know that we have had a bunch of good topics about shipping cars across the country (ie: Drew buying the MGB and Drew selling the Bugeye) but I can't find them.
Can someone help here?
Thanks

Don't know if you're looking for stories or just info, but here's some info. :eeek:
First, though you probably know this, nearly all the companies out there are brokers... and it's hard to deal directly with a transporter. That's not a bad thing but is the way most work. I think the typical situation is that the broker is getting about 30% (or more), but the transporters like being supplied with regular work.
Second, get ready for an onslaught of emails and phone calls if you get multiple bids (especially on-line). You can even tell them that there services are no longer needed, but that won't stop them. It's a cut-throat industry.
Third, go to a website that reviews them (in an impartial way - from people that have just used a given company). You'll find that there are specialists for across country or the eastern corridor, and some don't do "enclosed" shipping.
Fourth, I used "Magic Carpet" (yes, a broker that used, in my case, "Exotic Motor Transport" - the truck had Lambos and some antiques in it). Magic Carpet has some of the best reviews anywhere and you can check them out at
https://www.magiccarpetautotransport.com/ . They ere reasonably priced and good to work with (and I have no connection to them at all). They were much less expensive than the one Jay Leno recommends (that is highly regarded - "InterCity").
