Hi im new here and i did the introduction.Im wondering if i could get some help.I just bought this MG and the shifter rattles quite a bit around 50 miles per hour ,is there a fix for this or will i just have to live with it.Thanks for any help

WELCOME TO THE FORUM!! sorry about the caps, its a hazard of working with excel....

If your shift nob is of the replacement type ..they have been known to rattle with a sort of a buzzing noise. Could also be the shifter bushing is worn or missing. This would be evident with a rather sloppy shifter.

The nylon bush at the tranny end of the shift lever is the most likely culprit.

If the car is a 68 or newer MGB there is also a anti rattle spring and plunger located at the shifter ball. Many are missing and need to be fitted. Also I agree with the aftermarket shift knob and nylon bushing issues. Bob
