Series 1 E Type Clutch

Hi Everyone,
I have a 1667 series 1 E Type OTS. I have just purchased a complete 9 1/2" clutch assembly advertised as good for all cars 1964 to 1971. However when I got my gearbox and engine separated I found that the existing clutch was a 10". When I placed the new clutch over the flywheel I noticed that there are another series of fastener holes that do line up with the new assy , however the two spigots would have to be re-located.
Has anyone managed to successfully replace a 10" clutch with a 9 1/2" clutch and what other modifications if any are there to do? Or should I return it and get the proper 10" assy.

I have a 67 E-Type as well. It has been a while since I had the clutch apart, but it sounds like you may have gotten the wrong clutch. Can I ask where you bought the new clutch? If it's one of the main suppliers (Like Terry's or XKS) you should call them and inquire about the difference. If I was replacing my clutch I think I'd want one that didn't require modifications to fit.

Sounds like you have the early 10" Laycock clutch which you may find is no longer available. I think a conversion to the 9.5" is the usual solution.
