MGB Sebring valance

It's a Moss 475-190 being fitted to the rear of my '77. The fit is good, going right to the bottom of the underlying metal. The fiberglass has a little flex. Only the middle mount had been fitted when the first photo was taken, but the gaps will disappear once the other four mounts are in place. The second photo shows the middle mount being securely attached and one of the other four mounts. The two side mounts are the same but will use the stock angle cut spacers (shown) instead of a nut, fender washer, body panel, fender washer, sandwich.

I guess the edit feature times out. This is the left inside bracket. One of four with nuts, only the center has a bolt for positive indexing. It's easy but time consuming because to get a nice tight fit each bolt has to be individually fitted and there is a four-hour drying time for the epoxy.

My thought was to keep the metal front valance -- since metal is stronger than fiberglass and I have read that the Moss unit is 1.5 inches too wide for stock fenders -- weld up the matching holes in pictures two and three and the holes where the frame ends and move the valance forward so it attaches flush. I'm uncertain why a PO cut those holes (Who knows why POs do anything?), they are definitely not from the factory, the two holes aren't even the same size.

In post #3 I said that I read that the Moss Sebring Valance was 1.5 inches too wide for stock wings (but the correct size for flared wings). An acquaintance pointed out that this is not true of Moss Part # 475-185... At least he was told it was part # 475-185, it's marked "MGS70737" with a Sharpie.

I am not connected to Moss in any way. (Although if they want to send me free MGB parts... Well, it would be rude not to accept, right?)

A $20 angle grinder and a couple of $2 cutoff wheels and no front brackets.

"My" valance arrived from Virginia, it looks like I'll have to remove a quarter-inch or so from the edge of the fiberglass.
