OK maybe someone in the group could enlighten me as to what is the reason for the wires going to the driver’s seatbelt latch. I mean it doesn’t appear to do anything whatsoever. Yes, I know about the seatbelt warning light in the center console. But that works just fine & goes out a second or two after starting the car – regardless if I have my belt on already or not.
Anyway what brought this to my attention was that this afternoon I finally got around to replacing my old tired (barely working) inertia reel seatbelts. Upon removal I noticed that there was connector going to the drivers latch/release for the safety belt. That I’d all but forgotten about it from when I replaced the old carpet with a new kit a few years back But I just reconnected it to be safe - not knowing for sure and all but forgot about it until today.
Anyway, I installed the new belts without any problems and they seem to work fine. So I’m not all that concerned about this as nothing seems to be out of place. I suspect this is or was what powered that annoying buzzer that you can’t get anymore.
Anyway anyone know for sure – I’m just curious.
Thanks,
Bret
