TR2/3/3A scuttle vent

What's the secret to re installing the scuttle vent lid???seems like the cable is too long and re attaching the cable to the vent screw lid is difficult to say the least I must be doing something wrong .
 
It depends on the center pivot rivet; if that has a snap ring then hook up linkage as 2 pieces at both ends then put the rivet and snap ring on last as you bring those 2 together. The barrel that the cable goes through needs some free play so the whole assembly can fold in on itself. The large spring with 2 ears can go on later also.

It is challenging to get installed.

Mine had a rod rather than a cable.

It is a tricky little beast, it was the first thing I fitted after my rebuild because there was nothing in the engine bay and I could stand right up close, good luck.
