AND since I was at it, I decided to cut them all out in bulk, so now I can replace them on any more B's that I pick up.

OK! So the Electrician calls me yesterday!

Finally after 3 weeks, he found that someone other
than me, cut out 2 wires to the ignition switch, cut them so short
that you could easily miss the fact that there were even wired there.

ME? I learned a long time ago, whenever cutting a wire, always leave enough of a pig tail just in case you have to reconnect the wire. SO I don't have to feel guilty about not finding what was wrong with the wiring here.

Then the electrician rips into me "HEY did you know these SU's leak like a sive?

Yup, I know, just wanted you to get the car running, The SU's I can fix.

Whats my bill?

That much closer to finishing one MGB.

You'll find that electrical butchery is all too common with old LBC's. Biggest problem with Lucas electrics is the jack-leg "mechanics" who worked on 'em after they came to these shores. The cars got little respect, were considered "toy cars" and mistreated horribly by most who fixed real cars. feh.

Picking up the Barn Find this morning.
Then on to fix the leaking SU's,
I think I have a kit laying around here someplace.
Time to get into the inventory.

Rebuilt the SU's yesterday, getting ready
to put on the new canopy, got a beige one
to add to it. Once I do that I will roll it out
to the front yard for photos.

Okay,
The barn Find is alive!
