I have the bumber off of the 74 GT and am removing the Sabinas. I gave everything several good coats of PB over a few days. One screw loosened and off it came. The other, the nut head broke off of. The nut is on the inside of the Sabrina and the shaft of the bolt is still in place through tht ebrackets & bumper. I've tried countless squirts of PB and habe been hammering away to no avail. It seems that the aluminum used has caused some wacky oxidization and the shaft is frozen in place. I cannot rotate it or do anything. The bumper is for someone else and I don't want to destroy it.

Any tips - ideas?
 
What is a Sabrina?
 
Big square rubber bumper overriders that were used on some '74 cars right before they went to full rubber bumpers.
 
When did Dagmars become Sabrinas?

Take it off at the frame. 4 BIG bolts.
 
Sabrina was the name of a rather well endowed British actress of the era of these rather larger over-riders on our LBCs.

When I get them, yes.....don't know if I have any right now..hehehehe...but, they look a little different on an MG.
 
After seeing the french commercial, I can honestly say, I could NEVER drive a french car!

As for the bumpers, I still have mine - MG people don't have ask what year it is and, at least on mine, they look just fine!

Funny you say that...I stopped at a 4 way stop sign the other day at the same time a Sabrina wearing MGB did and said "Nice '74!" to which the driver replied "it's a 74 1/2". Since traffic was backing behind him, I just left, shaking my head /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

Perhaps he's a newbie...or maybe did a "semi-conversion" to chrome bumpers!

Hey you MG guys,you stole the word Sabrina. It was first used to describe the Triumph Twin Cam engine of the early 60's ie the cam covers.The rightful name for the rubber blocks on the MGB is Dolly Pardons.
