Road trip!! Am I crazy or what.......wait, don't answer that!! :]

I think it is really great that your SO is taking this trip by herself. Not to many LBC SO's would do that. My wife drove our daughters Austin Healey BJ8 from St. Louis to Salt Lake City for the Healey International Meet in Lake Tahoe. I wss in our BT7.

UPDATE: The Mrs. arrived at our hotel here in Indy safe and sound. Car is in terrific shape and is going to be a wonderful driver! It needs a little TLC here and there but don't they all? We'll fix some minor issues in the morning and then start on our way back to Chicago.

UPDATE: The Mrs. arrived at our hotel here in Indy safe and sound. Car is in terrific shape and is going to be a wonderful driver! It needs a little TLC here and there but don't they all? We'll fix some minor issues in the morning and then start on our way back to Chicago.

Good, glad to hear she made it w/o any trouble.

Good news!

Great to hear the Mrs made it with no problems! Had to be a wonderful experience for her. Good luck with the car. PJ

Now wait a minute.
In the beginning you called her a SO
Now it's the misses.
It can't be both

Why not? Unless he thinks she's insignificant, and BOY will that cause some ~issues~!!

signif′icant oth′er
n.1. a person who has great influence on one's behavior and self-esteem. Ain't it the truth! :highly_amused: PJ

In my generation, which is just slightly behind Mick's. a SO is a person you live with and is not married to, or as a same sex partner in a conservative state that doesn't allow such things.
Anyone who has had a sibling with one knows this is the best way to describe this person.
I guess it also has more significance in the liberal west versus the conservative south.
Has got to be more significant number of non married couples in the west v the South

EDIT:
If I introduced my wife as my SO...I'd be on the couch for a year

LOL, " a sibling with one", In my case a cousin. It meant the same thing here. Yes, you are correct, or at least were. It would seem someone got liberal with the current definition.

"Significant other (abbreviated SO) is colloquially used as a gender-neutral term for a person's partner in an intimate relationship[1] without disclosing or presuming anything about marital status, relationship status, or sexual orientation. Synonyms with similar properties include sweetheart, better half, spouse, domestic partner, lover, soulmate, or life partner."

Seems with legalization, the term is no longer exclusive. As far as the south being conservative, you couldn't be further from the truth. Unless someone lives here, all a fella knows is what the media tells them. The reason you hear squalking from folks is because the school system became over run by people with an agenda and abused their positions to indoctrinate other people children. Basically, the kids weren't given a choice by the system, either believe exactly what we teach you or be labeled and expelled. I by no means with to open a political discussion, I'm just saying, it aint what you think it is down here.

SO; Herself; Her Indoors; SWMBO... All the same in my world.

YOU ask her... I'm busy. Gotta change th' litter-box.

:banana::lol::lol::lol:
SWMBO
always wins out

Geez guys, way to hijack this thread! :D SO, SWMBO, The Mrs. I am using interchangeably here. Now...getting back to the topic: We made it home safe and sound. Car was extremely well behaved, did not fail to proceed, and was a BLAST to drive!! Cruised along at 65-70 all day. When we got home, I parked it next to our MGB and the Minor makes the MGB look big! And I can't believe I am going to say this but to me, it's more fun to drive then our MGB. All in all an excellent adventure!

Peter, Now all this gibberish is over about the SO, how about some photos of the car now that it's home! It's very nice to hear the trip was a success and all is well. Sounds like you got yourself a keeper! Photos please! PJ
