As Doc said, the only thing left is to replace a windshield, to be fully initiated, you must replace one. Someone once said, "I'd rather replace 3 transmissions than one windshield"! I wonder who that was. :highly_amused:
Oops...one change to my original plan. I always thought the cig lighter was on a switched circuit. It's not....it's on the purple circuit. No problem...just connected the voltmeter to the power lead going to the radio instead....
Finally done! Cables installed. Voltmeter and power socket installed. New antenna installed. Everything put back together. Everything works. Tools put away and garage cleaned up. No parts left over.
Here's a pic of the voltmeter installed. It's a decent match for the other gauges. 2" is perfect to fit that space. You can just barely see the power socket to the right of the console - attached to the bottom screw in the side of the console. It's a $5 Walmart part I got because it's all black - and I'm cheap. Don't know if it'll actually be used, but it was a might-as-well while I was in there anyway.
I enjoy looking at nice work. Joe, if someone didn't know what went there in the first place, they'd think the car came that way from the factory. Great match for the gauge. PJ
