Removing oily film

My car blows a lot of oil out the tailpipe. What will work to clean the oily film on my rear end? Turtle Wax Chrome cleaner works on the bumper but I fear it will be too abrasive for painted surfaces.

Turtle Wax Rubbing Compound?

hmmm... good points... is it removing the oily film... or is it restoring oil stained paint to it's original color?

You might try some stuff called greased lightening, it`s a degreaser {water based} so it won`t stain your paint. you can purchase it at your local wallyworld. {wallmart}

Wax and grease remover, normally used for cleaning and degreasing prior to painting. The major ingredient is naptha, and a gallon of naptha at the hardware store is cheaper than buying wax and grease remover at the paint store.
