Removing BJ8 'Adjustable' Steering Wheel Hub

When I look at the backside of this "largest diameter pressed steel plate", I see a total of four crimped metal 'semi-permanent' fasteners (I will define connectors like screws and nuts as 'removable' while welded connections are 'permanent').
Did you ever get an answer? This is my issue too!

Hi Mickdaly,

Sorry I'm late here. I've been away for a long time. But to answer your question, hmm...It's been a while since I've looked back there at my trafficator (13 years, give or take). But what I do remember and what I found most important (and which is why I kept of record sketch of it), is the wire setup and their proper locations. I fail to recall any wires that are welded nor any crimped fasteners, off hand. What I find that is most important and worthy of documenting is, there are "3" green wires back there. If you attempt to removed these wires, number label and tape each wire for reference and ease of reassembling (I like to be somewhat lazy and not have to think about how all these bits and pieces go back together). Below is a sketch I prepared (yes, sketchy but still worthy to me).

Hope this helps in some way...

Paul
