I am about to remove tranny from my 75TR6 (broken taper pin).I have disconnected the driveshaft flange from rear of tranny. The driveshaft flange went back and down approx.1.5 inches.Do I have enough room to remove the tranny or do I have to remove the driveshaft first? Thanks.

You should have enough room..I've helped on a couple of those jobs and we never removed the drive shaft...
You are removing the tranny thru the cockpit, right ?

And upon reinstalation, if there is one single most important thing, I'd have to say make sure you have those 2 dowel pins (moss #325-205) for alignment. They would be in the rear engine plate

Yes, isn't that what you were asking about ?.. .And especially when reinstalling, put a jack under the engine so it won't be drooping down.. you want it level to facilitate alignment with the tranny.
