I can assure you THOSE were NOT Rednecks.
A real "redneck" would certainly have......
It's nice to know ignorance doesn't know any ethnic or geographic location.
As evidenced by these two YouTube clips:

Americans are not stupid
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJuNgBkloFE

British are also NOT stupid - WITH SUBTITLES
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_mkwB9ayK4
And pay attention at the 1:06 mark of this one.....we may have to shut down the BCF....apparently there are NO British car makers? :frown:

<and if you read the comments, you'll find that portions of both clips were staged.... >

Rednecks, schmednecks, you guys haven't seen anything unless you grew up with REDBONES in central Louisiana in the '50s. Heck, I didn't wear shoes to school until the third grade cus they would whip my butt and take them if I did.

Pretty much indigenous to the town of Oakdale and Pitkin. All surnames of English origin. Knew how to use dynamite. Like mountain people, without the mountains.

Hard to fathom that with all the people standing around watching, NO one seemed to think that this wasn't going to work.

Or maybe they knew it and just didn't want miss the coming attraction.
My guess is there was a difference of opinion (read argument) earlier and the guy who almost got pancaked got his way. The other guy got his camera out.

Rednecks were miners that were trying to unionize in the 20's? They wore red bandannas around their necks to show their support.

That's true.
But down here in the Deep South, until a certain comedian with a Southern accent began using the name to get laughs, it was generally considered a derogatory for other reasons. Some people are still a little sensitive to the term. I guess it all depends who's using the term and for what reason.

A real "redneck" would certainly have a chainsaw. Now, would you like to attribute that foolishness to some other group ??

OH NO!!! These are as redneck as they come. The guy in the truck is sayin " Hey, hold my beer" while the spectators are all sayin " Hey yall, watch THIS!!!"
