Rednecks, schmednecks, you guys haven't seen anything unless you grew up with <span style="color: #FF0000"><span style="font-weight: bold">REDBONES</span></span> in central Louisiana in the '50s. Heck, I didn't wear shoes to school until the third grade cus they would whip my butt and take them if I did.

Pretty much indigenous to the town of Oakdale and Pitkin. All surnames of English origin. Knew how to use dynamite. Like mountain people, without the mountains.

But down here in the Deep South, until a certain comedian with a Southern accent began using the name to get laughs, it was generally considered a derogatory for other reasons. Some people are still a little sensitive to the term. I guess it all depends who's using the term and for what reason.

I aint neither here nor there.

I can travel b/w city and country folk and know how to fit in, but not really considered either one. I guess I'm a bit of half breed in that respect.
