Base/clear is your best bet for the long haul. The Clear is actually the best protection against fade if it is high solids.The high solids in a single stage will resist fading but even a light scratch can show off the great looking primer underneath. I plowed the clear on(had some runs to shave and sand) and I may have to go to a Ford 289 to haul that much gloss around, but it looks great.JBBgt6 said:This car won't be used except for fun on nice days.
