I want to put new bushings in the head stock of a Star lathe. My brother-in-law tried to turn a large piece of wood and jammed the headstock. At last measure the headstock is out .007" and this is not acceptable. I think I need new babbit bearings but need to find a place that knows what they are doing.

Probably poured babbitt, right ? Not too many places that do that any more ... but I got almost 1000 hits on Google for "pouring babbitt", including this one :
