Anyone have a better than stock rear shoe for a '79 avalible? I can't seem to find anything. I have some green stuff pads comming and new rotos and drums, now I need better shoes.

the usual suspect's shoes are just fine, most of the braking is the front and with your engine.....

What if he is wanting to do handbrake turns?

Maybe Carbo-Tech or Velvatouch metallic type material? Not sure if anyone is doing Velvatouches anymore. Carbo-Techs seem to be available from someone in Florida again. Check some of the enthusiast magazines for ads. Last metallic types I had done many years ago (Like the late 70's) came from the Richmond, VA area and didn't stay attached too well to the shoes.

The ultimate is a disk conversion, but be prepared for a lot of dollars to convert.

Forget about handbreak turns in a spridget. The think is so quick you don't have time to even think about it much less do it.

VB has some "performance" rear shoes. At $80 a set they better sure be. I have decided to make my car stop a bit better.
