I did not post anything about this before I saw it for myself just so I would not give false information.

Recently I was parking my Healey 3000 when a friend came over to talk about British cars and had a friend of his with him. His friend mentioned that he had several MGAs and a few other British cars stored away on some property he owned in rural NC about two hours from where I live on the coast. I got his number and called him last week to plan a visit.

Today I saw what he had and took many pictures. There are four MGAs two of which are coupes. There is a MG Midget from the mid sixties and a TR3. He also has all the engines, body parts, glass, two hard tops for the MGAs, a complete TR3 body which has been restored and only needs painting and many more parts for all the cars. He even has all the glass for the MGA coupes ready to be installed. The bodies of the cars are not under cover, but eveything else is. It was remarkable to see where parts were stored. One hardtop was in the rafters of one of the buildings, one was in the rafters of another building. The gas tanks were stored under the camper shell of a pickup truck. There were stacks of doors beside a motor grader. The TR3 motor was under a large water hose and on and on.

After seeing all this he took me to a working garage which was also down a dirt road where the one mechanic restored British cars. He was working on a nice 1967 AH 3000 and had a 60s vintage Mini he had just bought, there were many AH and MG parts strown about. Outside in the grass were various MGs, a Jag coupe from the late 60s, a convertible Morris Minor with grass growing up inside of it, a few Saabs, a few Porsches and a nice Bug Eye Sprite that his sister wanted to sell. I bought the Bug Eye!

I have lots of pictures and if anyone wants to see them please e-mail me at covercash1@aol.com I have never been able to master putting pictures on the forum, but will send pictures if anyone is interested in a specific car. The owner of all the first location (MGAs, Midget, TR3 and parts) is selling it during the next year so he can sell the property and move down to his property here in Oriental, NC where I live. It was a fun trip and brought back many memories of past cars and restorations I did years ago.

Charlie - I'm interested in the MGA coupes...can you send photos to me? I'm not at a machine where I have the ability to do emails right now....thanks.

I would be glad to send pictures of the MGA coupes. I can send them via e-mail or I can print some off and send by snail mail. Which would you prefer?
Charlie

Charlie, congrats on the Bugeye. Do you have pictures of the Spridgets? I don't need another project but I do know a couple of people who might be interested.

Tony will be back to his main computer in about two weeks. However, I expect he can find one locally that can tap his email, he just was not on one at the time.

Must have been a government one he was useing as his laptop is quite capable.

When you guys get the pictures, would you mind posting them? It would be great to see some real barn finds.

Jack, I sent you four pictures and the e-mail bounced back. Said it exceeded the size I could send you. I'll try three pictures.
Charlie

Don't think Tony wants that. I mean ya could if the majority of it was still good but the amount of work...Major projects based on what little is seen.

Think Tony is more intrested in parts to complete one.

OMG...

This brings a tear to my eye and my checkbook out of my pocket.. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif
