Re-doing seats?

I am about to re-do my Bugeye seats. I have a kit from AH Spares but am wondering about "horse hair" pieces. Should the horse hair be glued down, and if so what type of glue should be used? Also anything else glued down?

Thank you

Yes you glue down the squab.
I used 3M contact spray.
Got Pictures?

I wrapped all the metal parts that were covered with a thin upholstery batting. Helps to have two people with a heat gun. I used almost all small clips, with very few large ones. Makes sure the ribs in the back line up with the seat.
Here is a picture of mine.

And they are lovely.

I used a hot glue gun to hold the padding down, worked quite well.

My project is proceeding nicely but I have a question. Does the squab (horse hair) need to be trimed anyplace or just pulled down tight? It seems a bit wide about 2/3 of the way up from the bottom. It is centered.
Thank you.

Scott is right, trim it up. My kit from Moss needed a fair amount of trimming here and there.

One more question, at least for now;
On the seat backs, do the small pieces that cover the hinge area, need to be trimmed or maybe some of the stiching removed so they will slide all the way back? This area is a small mystery to me so going slow.

Thank you

That area is still a mystery to me, so I'm paying attention here - details about the hinge area covering and how its supposed to mate with the back cover would be greatly appreciated.

I have tons of photos that I can send you. Believe those might answer most of your questions.

That would be most helpful. I will share with Rick if you send them to me or post what you have for the Forum to see.

Thank you
