Rattling Noise while Clutch is Partially Engaged Clutch

Pilot bush was a bear to extract! Hylomar or some other strong adhesive had bonded it in place. All suggested methods were tried but I finally resorted to more primitive measures with a cold steel chisel. Three hours later, a clean unmarred surface is ready for tapping the new pilot / thrush bearing into. I believe this was the source of the rattle. Clutch disk, pressure plate and T/O show normal wear - no loose springs. To be sure a new AP / Borg and Beck clutch kit will be installed. Although the new AP parts look quite different from original, with thinner clutch friction material etc., it's my understanding they're essentially equivalent in fitment and performance to the originals. I'm keeping the original B&B parts just in case. GONZO
