I have one of the fiberboard air deflectors for my TR6. The problem is with all the moisture in my area, the deflector is all warped and falling apart. Any suggestions on something that looks original, but can withstand the high humidity? If so, can you give me the source? Thanks
Kevin

FWIW - I used Thompsons Waterseal on the fibreboard shroud on my TR4, though admittedly I do not live in a wet climate.

Not a bad idea. If no one else has any other suggestions, I think I will try applying a number of products on my old air deflector, put it outside and see how it stands up.
Thanks

Seems I recall a fellow BCF member made his new shroud out of sheet metal; that was only within the last year or so. Search the archives and you'll probably find his description.

Paint it with POR15, will last a long time and be water proof. The POR15 will soak into the fiberboard and give it additional strength.

George beat me to it... Goodparts makes one out of aluminum. I coated my fiber board with clear coat and its held up nicely.

The sheet metal looks enticing, but I am not sure if I could get it in without scratching it. I never was good at getting that thing in and out of the engine bay very well. If I coated it with POR15, would it be brittle? Can you get POR 15 in anything other than high gloss? Elliot, what do you mean you coated it with clear coat? What brand and product did you use?
Kevin

I bought an aerosol can of clear coat that you might use over paint.

Think Kevin is a little wiser "" with his money
IF not save your own with the above suggestions
VB has a plastic one ,or did.

I bought a replacement deflector a long time ago and want to install it but have misplaced the mounting screws. Any recommendations on generic (read "cheap") screws that will work and link to mounting diagram.
