Met my son today at a cool racetrack outside of Napoleonville, LA. No Problem Raceway www.noproblemraceway.com where the Porsche club of New Orleans met for a Sunday of casual "racing," no true competition, just 20 cars at a time motoring at high speed, passing on a gentlemanly basis. My son got to drive one of the Porsche 928 club cars, a real beater but nicely prepared. He got ten minutes or so on the track, racing against some seriously prepared cars and some not so seriously prepared cars. It took ten minutes for him to wipe the smile off his face. The whole crew, maybe 50 people and 30 cars, were really nice people.
On a weirder note, a retired professional football player showed up with his family driving three cars he had just bought. A new Ferrari convertible (no license plate yet), a new Maserati limited edition coupe (again, no plates) and his new S65 AMG Mercedes (had plates). I wonder how long he will hold on to his monies.
