Fella gave me a sprite or MG engine he could not remember. Has been stored dry in his family garage for over 30 years. Has one carb. what kind of a clue is that?

Bah.

Is anybody seeing a photo or just guessing?

Single carb could be out of a Magnette - if its front wheel drive could be out of an MG1100 or Mini - could be out of a Metropolitian even...we need photos!

He said it was an MG, shrug. Guy belongs to my club has a Hupmobile, in fact two of them.

Said he will get some numbers when he can.

Need a photo, Jack. If the color is green, and original, that would be a good clue.

I was at the Peachtree Register's MG GOF (Gathering of the Faithful) in Hiawassee, GA yesterday. There were about 80 MGs, from a beautiful PA to every flavor of "B" and all in between. There was a very nice Morris Minor woody van...little bitty _green_ motor with a single carb.

Could be from a number of different vehicles.

Probably better than a photo would be the numbers off that plate just behind where the generator/alternator mounts (See VB catalogue pp10 - below). Is the single carb on the left or right side of the engine?
On the right, it is probably a 1500, and on the left, a Morris!

PS: my appologies to the guys asking questions about this on Jacks other thread, without seeing this thread first I thought you were questioning what Miss A had under the hood!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif
