Now this guy is a REAL salesman!

........."I put it in a British car show one time and parked right along side the real thing and nobody even could tell it was a replica or as they are referred to nowadays “A TRIBUTE CAR”.........."

Fleabay

I think I just threw up a little in my mouth.

ugh

Kinda reminds me of some "tribute" bands that I've seen. Nowhere near the talent of the originals, and definitely nothing to look at...

That interior is disgusting. No way could anyone mistake it for an orignal E-Type.

It gets even better now... seller added on Nov 13.

Where do these sellers get this crap? This folks would NOT be an example of coil over shocks.

I wonder why the "five link suspension" is making it lean badly to the right?

He is probably pooping his pants with excitement after seeing 3000 hits on this nightmare.

Why bother, there are tons of E Types out there at reasonable prices. I dig the plywood dash, much nicer than that dot pattern aluminum.

The E-type is over 35 years old, you have to figure most of the younger generation under 45 would not know the difference. Only dedicated car nuts would be able to distinguish the fake from 100yds. Very sickening for a replica not to have an in line 6, for heaven's sake get near the original. My brother-in-law does this with the Cobra. His is a fiberglass factory run by Aurora and he even has ground dents in the glass to replicate aluminum dents. 302 bored to 338 and stroked to 400HP sounds and looks the same except for one more alteration and you would not be able to tell the difference. He's go $30K in it, lot's less than the $200+K of the real.

I can see replicating cobras, or other super cars, I've serious looked at the D type or XKSS replicas, I just dont have a million bucks lying around for an original, but I would think that a very nice replica of an E Type has to cost as much as a decently priced original.

Bid to $9K on that abortion?!?!

...P.T. Barnum is once again proven correct!

You're right, Rob. Plenty of good examples around, what would ya want with THAT thing. Except maybe to strip all the external brightwork for a rebuild on a REAL one.

Well, maybe so, but I think anyone at all interested in some particular type of classic car would at least know enough to spot such an obvious fake. I don't claim to be a Jag expert, (although I am well over 45!) but my first glance at the convertible top in the first picture told me that something was wrong. Just didn't have the lines.

I love XKEs, but the existence of these "replicas' really poisons the well, at least for me. At least, fortunately, the counterfeits are easy to spot.

People have bid this POS up to over 11K! And the reserve is still NOT met. The owner must be really upside down with this car. Personally, I wouldn't pay over 2K for it.

Ah, just think.
You can drive it to car shows, park it next to REAL "E" types that cost5X more, and nobody will know the difference!
Think how smug you will be with all the money you saved!
You can use that money to add a room onto your house for all the trophies you will win!

But, if you did lift the body off that chassis & put it on a purpose built one with Jag running gear/suspension & did some work to the interior, you might have a decent looking replica.

<span style="font-style: italic">"The wheels on it actully look allot like the originals it has 4 bolt pattern I believe the rear end is Mustang two I really don't know allot about Jags I just like the looks of them and this one is economical and dependable. Everything seems to work on it, even the clock. I did enter this in a British car show and was parked right along side the real thing and nobody even noticed the difference."</span>

You know, I had to look really close to make sure those weren't original Jag wheels...

I might just get a set to "class" up my Healey... :smirk:

This POS was bringing 12.3K and the FOOL didn't take it. My dad told me when I was a kid that there's no cure for dumb.
He was right.

Since evilbay changed the rules, we can't see who actually bid on it, right?
Wonder if it got "shilled up"?

> ...there's no cure for dumb.

IMHO, That applies to both the seller and the bidder!
