Progress

Hey Jack -

Just wondering...what's the status of your tub?

Tub is up in Tonys area of Alabama and hopefully will be blasted the week of 5 July and painted shortly there after if we can find a place that will do it right.

Hard to find real bodyshops anymore all they want to do is crash damage on new stuff. However we shall prevail.

No big rush as yet anyway, is to hot outside to work much and will be till the end of sept. meanwhile I still have things to do and make a bit of progress every day.

Jack -
Thanks for the update. I am following your project closely as I plan on the same approach to the '60 Bugeye I acquired earlier this year. I was fortunate to find a body shop where the owner is a true classic car enthusiast. He still does the collision/insurance work to pay the bills, but he takes on 2-3 classics for whatever type work the owner desires. I keep thinking this guy is not real, he actually admits that he does not make good money on the classics, but he does them to satisfy his own desires!
I know you transported your tub up Tony's way, but how will the blaster actually handle the tub as far as lifting, tilting and moving it around to get to all sides? Will they put an etching primer on the tub to prevent oxidation? I am just starting to look at soda blasting vs. dipping.
Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Tub is not heavy, two guys can turn it with on problems. Then it will go to maco for a two part primer all over. No clue what then.
