Progress-new thread Monday

Drip has not grown in three hours or so. Thats's it it seems.

Drip report:

Has been over 7 hours now, drip has not grown. Picture above is the extent of it.

hehehehe....so, now you can start a new thread for the next thing.....

No dripie this morning either, think that just might be the end of that problem.

Whoo Hhoooo, run it like you stole it.

Man does that engine turn and quick with the carbs right. Balanced, correctly adjusted, idle at 850 or so no change with clutch in. Will run to 5 grand smooth as silk. To soon to push it harder. But man are corners fun.

Clutch still not quite right, more work there. Thinking.

It sounds so smilely. Beep beep, Bugeye comming through.

Been driveing today before a few days of wet weather. Miss Agatha is all cleaned up and preaty, even wife approves.

Durn clutch, only time it goes to the floor is at high RPM, now what fun is that. Just a bit over 100 miles since engine in last. She is just about ready to go anywhere.

Jack,

What do you mean by the goes to the floor comment? More detail please. Maybe we can come up with some suggestions.

Phil

Well you push the clutch in and it does not release till pumped. It feels like the bubble worked to the slave with the quick time between shifts rather then just slow like normal.

You are so quick between shifts the bubble does not allow the slave cylinder to refill.

Jack, have you considered the possibility that either the slave or master might need to be replaced / renewed?

I think the solution my lie with a couple of rebuild kits, the master (You only need the clutch side) and slave.

It sounds like you have a pinhole, tear, wear or rubber deterioration on the rubber cups which is draining off the hydralic pressure!! (I would check the master first, since that can be done from above /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif )

Hmmm, slave is new. Master is rebuild by White Post.

Did not have the problem before the engine pulls.

I found this morning an old time MG guy who has a vacumn bleeder. Next tuesday will use it if I don't get it worked out before.

Jack, a vacuum bleeder is the only way to go. I can go from a completely dry system to a rock hard pedal, by myself, in about 10 minutes.

Has anyone else had this prob? I just came back from a nice drive, lovely here sun out and high 60s.

Here is what I determined.

Below 3K RPM all is fine. From 3K to 4K pedel is low but workable. Above 4K pedel will not release clutch.

I do have a 1275 slave push rod which is 2 11/16 long vs the 948, 1098 which is 2 1/2 inchs long. However, I would think that the longer one would be fine as the pedel is good other wise. But then is it? I can change out easly enough, not a problem. Do you think it makes any difference?

Quite honestly Jack, I don't see how rpms affect the hydraulics for the clutch!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif This is going to be a brain-teaser!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

Or.... what the heck you're doing releasing the clutch a 4500 RPMs
